The Pousada de Ribadumia has been designed and built as part of the set of actions called "Pousadas Jardín: Creation of a tourist product" by the Pontevedra Provincial Council. The project is located in the municipality of Ribadumia, in the Salnés region, Pontevedra province. The area is characteristic for its Atlantic climate, the richness of its rias, and the landscape of vines for the cultivation of albariño wine. The Pousada is fragmented to create green spaces between the volumes and adapt to the presence of trees and the different rural scales of the surrounding buildings. The block of common services is elevated on the first floor, to create a covered access on the ground floor and continue the scale of the adjacent parish house. The small scale of the mills along the Umia River is taken as a reference for the modules of the rooms, which are rotated according to the optimal orientation and views, to create a courtyard that functions as a private outdoor space. Water flows through it like another stream, while the vegetation carpets the open spaces.
